Before you buy new tires for your Cowboy, let's clear up the number jungle!

You only need to focus on 3 numbers:
Tire Diameter → 27.5 inches
Rim Diameter → 584mm (yes, always 584mm!) or 650B as the old style name
No change for the above 2 numbers, no matter the temptation. NO CHANGE
Tire Width → Depends on your Cowboy model!
Which tire width fits your ride?
C3: Original is 42mm, but you can go Schwalbe (40mm – 584) or Michelin (44mm – 584).
Warning: 45mm can be tricky to install—you might need a hammer or pliers (and some frustration). We say NOPE!
C4 (all models): Original is 47mm. You can go 45mm or up to 50mm – 584mm. (yep, still 584mm!)
What about all those extra numbers?
Most of them are outdated or regional, but the one that really matters is ERTRO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization). Stick to it, and you’re golden.
Oh, and if you see TPI (Threads Per Inch), that’s about puncture resistance—the higher the number, the tougher (but heavier) the tire!
